Now, you might be wandering why we moved from the old site. Underlisted below were some of the challenges we faced with Google's custom site on their subdomain.

Design and Features

1. Few themes: Very basic layout choices, and those downloaded from sites limits creativity greatly, with constant redirection to theme developer site
2. No plugins: Cannot add advanced tools easily, making things custom-made for us was very difficult.
3. No e-commerce: Cannot sell products directly and run advertisement to keep us going despite garnering a large audience through the years thereby causing inconsistency and regularity in posts.

Control and Ownership

1. Google owns it: Google can delete your blog if rules break, or decide to close their systems anytime.
2. No database access: Cannot change core files via FTP, meaning we can't control any part of the system itself, except post and edit posts.
3. Bad URL layout: Dates are forced into links, extremely bad for promoting SEO.

Support and Growth

No live support: Only public help forums exist.
Harder SEO growth: Harder to rank against self-hosted sites.

At this point, I hope everyone understands the issue now. We need to upscale, but before we do that, we must test our systems on another platform and Google's Blogger.com platform can not offer us that opportunity.
